Can custom sizes be made?
Yes, typical units in the literature are standard module sizes, but we can fabricate almost any size needed for this environment. We can pair standard and custom units to fit very specific requirements. The process takes slightly longer as we need to create CAD like renderings to ensure we create exactly what you want.
Do you have ‘open’ sorters?
We have sorters that are open or closed backs depending on the application and the required workflow of the room.
How do we label the sorter shelves for identification?
The sorter units are supplied with shelf fronts and labeling strips for proper and clean identification of contents.
Can the desks be used in stand up applications?
We supply 30” desks (consoles) for sit down application, and 36” high consoles for stand up operations. We can also provide electrically height adjustable consoles for more versatile applications. Height adjustable consoles are not recommended to be used in conjunction with sorter units due to weight restrictions.
Are sorter units available for different sized materials?
Yes, the sizes are letter, legal and oversized modules. You can also adjust the sorter shelves on 1” increments for any size height needed.
Why use sorters and not regular shelving?
Sorter modules allow for very small openings if needed, and openings of different sizes within the unit itself. Shelving typically has a larger footprint, and is less flexible in its configuration.
What is the weight capacity of each sorter shelf?
The sorter shelves can accommodate 35 pounds each. Applications are mostly within a mail room environment, but can be used in other areas where forms or inventory need to be kept neat and organized.
What holds the sorters on the desk?
The sorters are affixed to the consoles with Hafele mini-fix cam lock. It allows the sorter to lock securely to the console, and also be easily removed without damaging the sorter or the console.
Why are some of your desk sizes non-standard?
Some of the desk (console) sizes are unique, but they are made to match the widths of the various sorter widths.
How do I prevent mail for falling off the desk when unloading our mail bags?
We have ‘dump rails’ for the consoles that can be affixed to both the rear of the work surface and the sides of the work surface.
